Media personality JK Kazoora has voiced frustration over the persistent traffic congestion affecting Kira, Bulindo, Buwaate, and nearby neighborhoods, raising concerns about delays in the ongoing road construction projects.

Kazoora described the daily struggle faced by many residents, saying the gridlock has drastically altered routines and taken a toll on productivity. He shared that his mornings now begin before sunrise, with hours lost navigating traffic after school drop-offs.

“It’s exhausting,” he said, questioning whether the contractors overseeing the roadworks are operating under clear timelines. He wondered if the projects are being efficiently managed or simply dragging on without firm completion targets.

Seeking clarity, Kazoora said he reached out to the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) to understand the cause of the delays. According to him, officials pointed to compensation disputes involving more than 70 landlords, with substantial funds reportedly required to resolve the claims.

He also alleged that political dynamics may be complicating the situation, suggesting that local leadership factors could be influencing the pace of progress.

Beyond the inconvenience of traffic, Kazoora warned of deeper social consequences. He argued that the prolonged congestion is disrupting family life, straining mental well-being, and affecting work efficiency for thousands of residents.

In illustrating the broader impact, Kazoora noted that some commuters resort to waiting out traffic in trading centers and roadside hangouts, only to return home late, further unsettling household routines.

He urged authorities to treat the matter with urgency, calling for decisive intervention to expedite the roadworks and restore normalcy for affected communities.
