Nnalongo Maggie Kaweesi’s Death Leaves AK47’s Three Children Orphaned

A wave of grief has engulfed Uganda's entertainment fraternity following the death of Nnalongo Maggie Kaweesi, the widow of the late singer AK47 (Emmanuel Mayanja), leaving behind three children who have now lost both their mother and father. According to close family sources, Maggie passed away after a short illness. She had reportedly been battling a persistent fever before her condition deteriorated. Her death comes more than a decade after AK47's sudden passing in 2015, when she was left to raise their three children on her own.

For years, Maggie dedicated herself to ensuring her children had a home, care, and guidance despite the absence of their father. Today, the family's greatest heartbreak is the uncertain future facing the three children, who must now navigate life without either parent.

The news prompted an emotional response from singer Pallaso, AK47's younger brother, who confirmed Maggie's passing and appealed to friends, fans, and well-wishers to stand with the family during this difficult time. He announced that a vigil would be held at the family's home to allow relatives and friends to pay their last respects, while funeral prayers and requiem Masses would be conducted ahead of her burial. Pallaso also shared the burial programme, calling on the public to support the family and keep the children in their prayers.

As messages of condolence continue to pour in, many Ugandans have expressed concern for the three children, who have now been orphaned after losing both parents at such a young age. What was already a painful chapter for the Mayanja family has become even more heartbreaking, with many hoping the children will find love, care, and support from relatives and the wider community in the years ahead.
